With civil war ongoing and militant groups seizing Syria and Northern Iraq, Foursquare Disaster Relief (FDR) continues to provide desperately needed assistance to both Iraqi and Syrian refugees.
SYRIAN REFUGEES ARE BEING CARED FOR BY FOURSQUARE PASTORS IN TURKEY.
The relief efforts have particularly been in partnership with Foursquare churches and leaders in Turkey, but they are now expanding into additional areas in the Middle East and Europe. This refugee crisis, now the largest in several generations, will require continued intervention for years to come. But while this work will be long term, it also requires care right now.
To date, FDR has heavily invested in ministry on the front lines, including having shipped 275,000 meals, facilitated the donation and delivery of a fully equipped ambulance, and otherwise assisted the ground efforts of our Foursquare family in the set up and operation of fully engaged refugee camps. Foursquare’s unique position of having local church leaders and workers present in the middle of this crisis not only affords a tremendous opportunity for serving well, but also has opened doors for wider partnership with other organizations looking to assist.
We are reminded daily of the magnitude of need and the tremendous privilege we have to minister the genuine love of Jesus Christ in our changing world. Please prayerfully consider partnering with these expanding efforts.

Maybe you have considered serving at Gateway but don’t know where to start or what needs to be done. Why serve? We are better together and will be more effective as a church as many people use the gifts God has given them. Here are a few opportunities you may want to consider:
Sunday Mornings:
- Greeting: Welcoming our guests and family with a smile.
- Coffee Team: Preparing and serving warms cups of love… I mean coffee and tea.
- Ushers: Help people find seats and direct them to where the need to go.
- Computer Operator: Run a simple program so people can sing along.
- Kids Ministry: Help in our Nursery, PreSchool and Elementary classes. It’s fun!
- Service Production: Assist in preparing the building for services.
Mid Week
- Facilities: Assist in clean up and set up. A dirty church wouldn’t be very inviting.
- Landscaping: Maintaining and improving our curb appeal.
- OSL Administration: Set up and tear down to make our sessions a success.
- Seasons Freestore: Provide good quality used clothes to those who need it.
As Needed
- Shopper: When we need to buy things use your bargain hunting skills for Jesus!
- Administration: Assist our office administrator in special projects. If you like paper you’ll love this.
- Renovations: Improving our building for better ministry.
- Special Events: Fall Carnival, Church meals, Christmas etc. Where’s the party people?
