Monday -God’s Will & Ways

Pray along with us this week. Each day a prayer devotional will be posted here to assist you in your times of prayer. For practical tips on fasting read this post.

Matthew 6:10 Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

As we pray we aren’t trying to get God to follow our lead. As we humble ourselves, we seek to discover His will and His wisdom as we move forward together as a church family. The Word tells us that Jesus is in the business of building His church. We partner with Him as we follow His lead. At the same time the Scriptures are full of instances where God makes His will know to us. He desires to see many, actually everyone, come to salvation. He has released the church to bring the reality of the kingdom to the nations. He has equipped us with the Spirit and gifts to bring healing, restoration, reconciliation, hope and life to our world. He wills that we would become transformed to the image of His Son.

God is building Gateway. Let’s pray for our church and that God’s kingdom would be expressed through our lives and that His will would be done.

Luke 22:42 “Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.”

Mark 4:30-32 30 He said, “With what can we compare the kingdom of God, or what parable shall we use for it? 31 It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when sown on the ground, is the smallest of all the seeds on earth, 32 yet when it is sown it grows up and becomes larger than all the garden plants and puts out large branches, so that the birds of the air can make nests in its shade.”

Hebrews 13:20-21 20 Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, 21 equip you with everything good that you may do his will, working in us that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.

Sunday -Worship

Pray along with us this week. Each day a prayer devotional will be posted here to assist you in your times of prayer. For practical tips on fasting read this post.

Matthew 6:9 Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.

We begin our week with a focus on the worship of our great God and King. Take time today to praise God, to thank Him, to consider His character and nature. Ask Him to reveal Himself to you in a greater way and then pray and praise what He reveals back to Him. In a week of prayer and fasting it is vital for us to take the focus off of ourselves and our deeds and place our full attention and affections on God alone.

Zechariah 9:17 For how great is his goodness, and how great his beauty

Isaiah 63:7 I will recount the steadfast love of the Lord,
 the praises of the Lord,
according to all that the Lord has granted us,
and the great goodness to the house of Israel
that he has granted them according to his compassion,
according to the abundance of his steadfast love.

Titus 3:4-7 When the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

Introducing ‘the Gate’

If you are reading this you have discovered ‘the Gate’! Gateway now has it’s own blog. The intention of establishing a blog is to create a place where the Gateway family can connect to events, resources, inspiration and other content. It is another avenue to stay in the loop.
