Can you believe March 15th was the last Sunday that we held public services at Gateway. The challenges of COVID-19 launched us into a new season of live stream church where we have been able to reach further than ever before. Live stream is great, and will continue it, but we miss meeting with the church family in-person.
Now that we are in the Phase 3 of our provincial Restart Plan we are ready to open up to public services, but in a new way.
Starting July 5th we will return to our normal 2 service schedule at 9:00 and 11:00am but with some key differences. For the summer months we will be asking our Gateway family to attend a service every other week. Why? First, it allows us to keep our numbers lower to maintain appropriate social distancing in our sanctuary. Second, we will ensure that we have room to welcome guests at each service so we don’t send anyone away. Third, it is a cautious step forward as we evaluate the need for additional services.
How Will This Work?
We will alternate a two week schdule (Week A & Week B) each with two services (9:00 & 11:00am). Let us know which service time you would like to attend and we will confirm which week you will be assigned to. Simply click the ‘Sign-Up Now’ link on this page and follow the prompts for your prefered service. Once we confirm with you, you will recieve email reminders 3 days before each service.
You can also send us and email to email@example.com or call the office at 250.287.8133.
Have Some Questions?
What about kids?
Kids are an important part of our church family. There will be kids programming available for ages 2-12. More details will be available soon.
Can I bring a guest?
Yes. We are doing our best to ensure that there will be space available for guests at each service. When possible get in touch to let us know your plans before hand.
What precautions are being taken?
We are doing our best to follow all of the guidelines given by our local and provincial health authorities. In addition to observing social distancing and staying below 50 people in the main building we will also:
- Sanitize all touch surfaces before and between services.
- Provide hand sanitizer and masks on the way in and access to hand washing areas.
- Not have food or drinks available.
- Receive tithes and offerings in a giving box or online.
- Not allow people with obvious flu-like symptoms to attend.
- Ask people to leave the building promptly after the service to fellowship outdoors.
Will the live stream continue?
Yes. For those who are not ready to attend in person, for those who are sick and for others in Campbell River and beyond we will continue to live stream. Starting July 5th the live stream will begin at 9:00am.
