Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse! The one sitting on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. -Revelation 19:11
I’m going to do my best to remain politically neutral here… oh boy that sure is a lead in. We have a trust problem in our society. Politicians of every stripe, business leaders of all kinds, friends and even family members have let us down. Promises made and not kept. Commitments to do it better than the other guy and then falling into the same pattern. We can be tempted to become cynical and lose faith. It can even creep into our walk with God.
Today I want to remind you that Jesus is revealed to us as Faithful and True. What a name! It even gets capitals. Even when Jesus makes the boldest of statements: I’m coming back, I will be with you always, mountains can be moved, He means it and will do it. As we seek Him, particularly in His word but also in the testimony of others, let’s allow our trust in Him to grow. Don’t settle for an apathetic faith. It does not honour the true nature of who our Saviour is.
What areas do you need to begin to trust Jesus in today? Invite Him into your disappointments, to heal your heart.
